Poinsettia

First layer of paint is done. It's 8x10". Pretty much life size. I did one on canvas and one on masonite so I can decide finally which i like best. I've worked on both surfaces many times but never one right after the other--giving it real thought. Definitely like the canvas better. Although I do like the solidity of the panel, I like the way the paint handles and looks on the canvas best. I may finish them both anyway...we'll see.

I thought if any model could hold a pose it would be a plant. But she's lost a leaf and made a few adjustments. It's not a big deal like losing an actor in mid production but it has me worrying about other leaves--the pale one in front is next. Please hold out for another day!
